CASA LUDWIG

Bed & Breakfast

Puyuhuapi - Patagonia - Chile

OUR HOUSE

Originally the homestead of one of Puyuhuapi's founders, Casa Ludwig is an inviting Bed and Breakfast run by its owners, Luisa Ludwig and James Falkowski.

The charming, well-cared-for house, made entirely of select native woods, was built about 50 years ago by Luisa's father, Ernst, one of the area's first colonists. Its carefully chosen location offers a wonderful view of the Puyuhuapi Bay and the surrounding hills. For many years, the house was known for having the largest living room in town, making it the perfect gathering place for celebrating Puyuhuapi's important events. Now, we would like to welcome you.

Come and enjoy the warm and informal atmosphere of Casa Ludwig. We offer 10 rooms ranging from singles to rooms large enough for a family of five. Most have private baths. Breakfast is served with fresh, ground coffee and home-baked whole grain bread.

Free Internet • Book Exchange • Patagonia Library • Free Self Service Coffee and Tea • Use of Kitchen for Making Snacks

Cyclists: We have indoor storage for your bicycles as well as a workshop and tools if you need to make repairs.

We speak English, Spanish and German.

OPEN FROM MID SEPTEMBER TO THE END OF MARCH

OUR VILLAGE - PUYUHUAPI

This small village of 600 inhabitants was founded in 1935 by four young Germans who came to settle in the previously unexplored forest at the end of the Bay (see History).

The town is easily accessible via the Carretera Austral from Coyhaique to the south or Chaitén and Futaleufu to the north and is approximately 200 km from each. The town is nearly surrounded by Queulat National Park.

NOTE: There are no ATMs or banks from Coyhaique to the northern end of our region. Most shops, buses, and services accept only Chilean Pesos.
